ETC/ATNI Report 3/2020: Analysis of the air pollution policies and measures reported under the National Emissions reduction Commitments Directive (NECD).

This report describes the main characteristics of Member States’ additional air pollutant PaMs reported through the EEA PaM tool as required by Directive (EU) 2016/2284 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the reduction of national emission of certain atmospheric pollutants (the ‘NECD’). The report also explores the potential synergies between air pollution and climate PaMs that Member States report under the Monitoring Mechanism Regulation (MMR, EU 525/2013).

ETC/ATNI Report 1/2020: Reference air quality maps 2005 and 2009. PM10, PM2.5, ozone and NO2 spatial maps and population exposure .

The report presents the European air quality concentration maps and population exposure estimates for human health related indicators of pollutants PM10 (annual average), PM2.5 (annual average), ozone (SOMO35) and NO2 (annual average) for years 2005 and 2009, using the current version of the routinely used mapping method (the Regression – Interpolation – Merging Mapping). The aim of the 2005 maps is to serve as an input to potential assessment of the progress towards the Clean Air Programme objectives in terms of health impacts of air pollution. The aim of the 2009 maps is to be an input to a planned comparison of the health impacts in 2009 and in 2018, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the first EEA´s Air Quality in Europe annual report.
